Question: A 40 year old woman undergoes stapedotomy for otosclerosis. During curetting, the curet inadvertently strikes the incus. While the stapes remains in its normal position, the IS joint is separated and the incus is dislocated. Repositioning it reveals that it is no longer attached to the malleus well.
