Question: A 68 year old woman is undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy for osteoradionecrosis of the mandible. She complains of ongoing ear pain with treatments requiring frequent pauses during treatment. On examination after a treatment you find a small hemorrhage within the tympanic membrane without middle ear effusion. What grade of barotrauma is this and how can you prevent further complications?
